blog blip

Whoops. I've run into a major "blipp-oo" with the 'ole blog lately. Lots of stuff happening, and now it's already a week after the election!

Sarah made her way home, for a short while. Gee, I wonder if she gets credit on her airline miles. Sheesh! She and Piper can fly around the world for Spring Break if they want to! She's sure still in high demand with the press. I haven't heard of much post-interview intrigue with John McCain. Nobody cares about how much money they spent glitzing him up in fancy suits and ties the past month or so. Something still seems very surreal seeing Sarah being fussed over so! Now, it's time for her to refocus on our state's business, and her young family, (that in my opinion) need her now more than ever.

Friday night, the Mr. and I decided to go out to dinner at the Homestead....who should we happen to run into? Haha! Teri was there with her side-kick, and they joined us at our table. Yep, as you might have guessed, the Mr. could hardly get a word in edgewise. It was fun dining "by accident". We tried to be good, and we figure we were if we didn't choke on our food laughing. See, we're so dignified.....

Saturday was the local health fair, in town. The "losers club" had their own booth, with informational propaganda about meetings and the food program. Wow, since Sept. 2007, our group has lost over 3,000 lbs.! Impressive! We can safely say it's changed the cosmic shape of our seaside village.

Saturday, Teri, our "Singer friend", and I hopped a flight to Anchorage together, and spent the afternoon racing from store to craft show, to bread bakery, to sports shop, trying to fit in as much as we could before our dinner date with four other Homer friends. We ran into our former singing buddy, and Italy trip companion, sir "J", in our wild tour of the mouth-watering carbo-stuffing bread company. It was a curious happenstance running into him, and we smiled all day thinking of the memories we shared with him from a couple years ago. (can you tell these are r-e-a-l-l-y happy grins on our faces?)

Our dinner dining spot was the Kincaid Grill, and the food was several mega-steps up from boxed mac and cheese. It was elegant dining at it's best. Our group of eclectic, looser-focused gal pals is a fascinating mix of fun devotees, loyal ladies and point counting divas. This meal was off the weekly journals. Enjoy the tastes and delicacies that reside 220 miles from our home kitchens. Before we knew it, Teri had to be whisked away to the airport, to catch her flight to Cheeseland, and the rest of us scurried on to our motel for the night.

State-wide, highly top-secret looser meetings were the main reason for our Anchorage trip, and Sunday, late morning, we joined together with other like minded party dressed folk. Although we are sworn to secrecy, our highly classified new info has us excited and pumped to share it with our local group. The new enthusiasm will spread quickly once we're able to spill the beans and hand over the new "shtuff". We were pleased to witness our "grand poo-ma" receive an award. Though we were party dressed, we hooped and hollered like we were at a high school basketball game. "She's OURS, and we KNOW she's TOTALLY DESERVING of a HUGE TROPHY!!" (as well as a weekend in Vegas and a new car, if you want to just throw that in.....)

Tomorrow, I'll catch up on the news from last night. Another gathering of VIPs.....

Isn't it hard to catch up after you've not blogged for a bit? I'm so glad to see the cuteness that is you and Teri, and the girls of the WW in their glory! Thanks for this happy post!
