a voting day walk

Well, November fourth is finally here, and what better way to deal with the day's drama than to take a long walk with a good friend? When we first parked our car at the base of the Spit, we saw a group of about 8 local women athletes, who were stretching after running their mid-day trail run. No doubt they will be trading in their running shoes for skis soon, after we have another inch or two of snow. We exchanged hellos and were on our way....realizing how running would have warmed our bods much more quickly than walking. Due to knee challenges, we are both committed to conserving as much cartilage as we can, keeping our heals on the ground and taking on more of a snail's pace than that of a jack rabbit. But, we're OK with that. It feels wonderful to be out in the fresh air and seeing the beauty of the seasons changing.

I end today with 4 views of the Spit, during different times of the year, July, August, September, and early November. Such contrasts!
