Tuesday night, we threw a surprise going away dinner for our long time friends, "TV and P", who are relocating for the winters in a dry, warm land far away in America. Although they are recently empty-nested, their time to kick back and relax are still a ways off. No time to get bored during their evenings together, fighting over the remote control, and wondering how "the kids" are all doing, in their endeavors down south. They are in a very active season of their lives, with a couple large projects to take care of before they end up at their final winter destination.
The six of us couples have known one another for more than 25 years. Needless to say, there are many things we've been through together, raising our children, launching them off, some of them now married. Four of the couples have grandchildren, and two still have children in the home. Most importantly, we share the same faith in God together, and He has brought us all through many a storm. If I was to write down all the many things this group of 12 have been through, you wouldn't believe me. But, God has been faithful in each instance, to get us through the valleys, even when we've felt at the end of our own strength. YET, not all has been difficulty. We have had lots of good laughs along the way...musical moments with our kids, (thanks to "Mrs. E"), written and been in many goofy skits for various celebrations together, cheered one another's kids on the basketball court, been involved in school board meetings and choir trips and girl's softball seasons. It's a knitting together of hearts that makes it hard to say goodbye to "TV & P". We know that this new move is going to be good for them in a lot of ways, being closer to family and in a climate more to their liking. I'm glad we don't have to say goodbye for good, since they'll be back for the summers. We have much more mischief to get into, "TV", so don't stay gone forever!
Oh, and a little reminder for "TV & P".....Alaska remains the largest (& most important) state in the nation.
(or the "United States of America & Mexico, etc., etc...")

Hmmmmmmm seems that Texas takes a little bit longer to drive across than Rhode Island...hahahaha. What a beautiful tribute to a fantastic night. Thank you again! I already miss all of you very much.
