This week, my nephew, who attends West Point Military Academy, was one of two cadets requested to lead the pledge of allegiance at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, to honor Frank Buckles, age 107, the last remaining veteran that served in WWI. An around town jaunt carried a jolt of adrenalin, when "T" and I happened upon a mama moose and her little darlin'. We ain't dumb. Don't mess with Mama! We steered clear, after looking like tourists, snapping the fotes.

"Jazz man" came to dinner. Good time, much laughter, great conversation. We'll see you again in August, friend!
Gas prices continue to climb.
Time to throw a saddle on that moose, and save a buck.
Fishing continues daily on the Kasilof River, with "the Mr.", "K", and their clients.

question...why is he on the kasilof all the time? that is a horrible drive.
The Kasilof is the only river open for the keeping of King Salmon right now, until July 1st. Yeah, an hour drive each way is a drawback, but it's a beautiful river & people have been catching. In the photos, he is taking a group of boy scouts, from the east coast. Each day has it's stories, some absolutely hilarious, but time doesn't allow me to record them all. Needless to say, we don't need any other form of entertainment, (that is, if we had time to enjoy any, ha!)...I think we could write a book about our summers!
