take me there....

It's the quiet.

It's the coolness.

The enticement of the untouched world calls....fresh air, the sound of running water, the incredible beauty of things not made by hands of men.

The essence of each morning for us, is likened to a quote from "A River Runs Through It", a 1992 motion picture, directed by Robert Redford, based on a 1976 novel by Norman Maclean, "A River Runs Through It and Other Stories." The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, and awarded one for cinematography. It's sentiments are expressed here, in the final scene of the film:

"Like many fly fishermen in Western Montana where the summer days are almost Arctic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being of my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise.
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters. "

a touch of the Almighty...what else can we say? We see through a glass darkly...
The Lord was here in Chicago this morning...after 20 years of serving the city without a permanent building, Park Community Church opened the doors of its beautiful new home!
We sang:
Oh, Lord, haste the day when thy faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll,
the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
even so, it is well with my soul!!
