A delightful small herd of children graced our home on Wednesday eve, as our assistant guides' family came for dinner. Big brother helped with the dinner prep. Wow, guys that are helpful in the kitchen....gotta love 'em! Oldest sister, who is a basketball star and horse-rider extraordinaire, is headed for the fashion runway. I'm just sure of it. She be stylin'.
Middle sister was one tired girl, falling asleep in the middle of a rip-roaring "Memory" game. Oh well, that made it easier on "the Mr.", who was loosing terribly to the girls. Best to keep his ego intact.
Cute little princess sister helped me put a dessert try together. She is a charmer!
In the "extremely exciting and happily-ever-after-department", we are proud to pass on the great news that "G-I Joe" proposed to his girlfriend 2 days ago, and she said YES! Congratulations, you two! We will be happy to hear about the wedding details as they unfold.

So, do you recognize my pint-sized friend in the photo? We did lunch today, scheming our attack on tomorrow, when we are going to, (don't laugh), both be among the throngs of athletica folk, as they leave us in a cloud of dust for the annual "Homer Spit Run." Before your chuckle turns into an uproar, please know that our intentions are in the ranks of the wiser walking ones, who are conservatively saving their bodies for better things. (like, say, getting out of bed in the morning...) We discussed the annoyance of newspaper and TV reporters that will be on our every move, and the fact that maybe we would do best to just wear bags over our heads. Ya know, she's very famous, and being her side-kick makes me famous by association. The clincher of the week was her finding out that she is a finalist AGAIN in the "Fish Alaska" magazine recipe contest of the year! She and the other finalists will be cooking their award winning recipes for distinguished judges...(one of them the governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin!), the last weekend of September. Now, isn't that just the most exciting thing you've heard all week? Of course, she was very subdued and silent when she heard, and kept complete composure, for about, well, a milli-second. Well, actually, I think everyone west of Seward could of heard her screams! We're all so daw-gone-proud-of-ya, "T"!! :0)
We'll be so excited for our prancing "singer-sister", who will be among the graceful gazelles in front of us. Go, Singer friend! We'll see ya at the finish line, along with all the paparazzi. (no autographs, please....) We'll be heading up the snail department, along with the caboose babystollers. But, I bet "outdorphins" will be flying!
Last stop of the day, was over to the "Dr. Drill Sargent's"...for a dental filling. Who should I see, but "the dental daughters" themselves!! "M", in pink, is getting married in a week, to her way-smart blue clothed boyfriend, who is a math major. Hard to understand how people actually get through Algebra 1, let alone all the geo, trig, statistics and "tassel me a math major" experiences. God bless your future together, "T&M"!!
There's a whole lot of wedding themed stuff going on around here. Such an exciting time!
