bikes, buds, boots and the bay

The load of summer and it's hectic pace is lightened by a Sat. afternoon walk with a pal. It's amazing how our outlook can be brightened by a time of walking and sharing. It was a beautiful stride, up and down neighborhood hills, with (no surprise...) lots of laughs and "outdoorphins". She had her new BIKE stashed in her car...it's a beaut.

It's still feeling more like late spring, than summer. We have green, but are hanging on to a distinct coolness that summer should shed. Mud remains, but, hey...the snow is now gone from the shady spots along the walk-route, so that's progress.

Fresh, summer color is evident in the beach peas and lupine that are lining the landscape now.

Currently, too many tourists are here to walk the Spit and main walking paths in town. We need to be sticking to the off roads.









The guys have had some fun times themselves......the smiles tell the story.

This has been the last weekend for King Salmon fishing on the Anchor River, through today. After the Wed. opener, it's off to Kasilof every day for the guys. They've continued to find fish daily, and enjoyed getting to know their clients from all over the U.S..


A quick thanks to one of our main-stays that keep things running smoothly. Thanks, "G-I Joe", for all your hard work and loyalty. Here's Joe with his girlfriend, who's just new to Alaska. You two are tooooo cute!




New this year, are some valuable additions for our team. First, are the assistant fish-guiding dudes, that make the operation possible. You guys rock!

AND, in our "at-home-operations" is the fabulous addition of Karyn, my new best bud, alleviating my feeling of needing to be in 12 places all at the same time, and doing none of them well. She's ambitious, quick, pleasant to be around, and.....cool.....she even is willing to clean the boots! Ahhhhhhh, very nice to have her on-board!
