My friend "TFC" saw snowflakes this morning when she took her early morning walk. Ugh. Enough of it. Quit already. In town though, the lawns are greening up, and the small delicate wildflowers along the Spit Trail are convincing enough that the seasons are indeed changing. We get teased a lot this time of year. A really warm day will fill us with the intoxication of long awaited springtime. The next day may blow cold winds that remind us that it's too soon to discard coats and hooded sweatshirts. The seabreeze makes itself known in the afternoons, no matter how calm and still the Bay looked in the morning.

We are not envious when we hear about temperatures over one hundred degrees in the Willamette Valley. We would melt...literally to puddles on the floor, or refuse to be anywhere that wasn't glacierally air-conditioned.
We'll take the clean air, wild life, open spaces and put up with a few snowflakes if we have to. Oh, and there is always the tsunami to be ready for. I guess we're used to those. This is where we belong.
