The end of last week, as the fire raged on and the weather forecast had only sunny skies predicted, a very needed miracle happened! We had 2 days of rain! It was just enough to dampen things and cut down the dry fuel, that covered acres of canyons and open dead spruce. The consensus of thought from everyone I've come in contact with the last few days has been the same. Answered prayer brought this rain, and assisted coordinated efforts to bring this fire down.
An example of answered prayer is evident in my friend, "V."'s photo. She lives in the fire area, and chose to stay and fight the fire with her extended family, after being advised to evacuate. They operate their own tractors and heavy equipment out there, where self reliance is a must. Before the fire assistace was even on the scene, they had banded together with other family members and friends, to take precautionary measures into their own hands. But, fire breaks out and spreads by it's own random rules. Much is out of man's control. The meadow, where they graze their horses in the summer was completely surrounded by fire. It did not enter the meadow. Coincidence?

Lots of people are resting easier now, after a very intense week.
