New Year brings a fresh new beginning

There's nothing like a fresh start. Unexplored enthusiasm to try new things. Uncharted months ahead. The rawness of the unknown. The ignited motivation to pursue dreams. Finding ways to challenge and face our weaknesses. Re-prioritizing. Building on existing foundations. Learning to let go of the things that get us off track. Daring to dream what a new year might bring.

How I love the freshness of it's onset.

This year, we have had the gift of family here with us for the start of the New Year. Our daughter and her husband have taken a break from their normal routine, and traveled up to share a week of the winter's quiet.
We're enjoying reflective moments, in candlelit rooms, catching up with time together....

Sharing in the festive feel of letting go of 2008, and looking ahead to 2009...

Even though it's been been in the single digits outside, they've been out cross-country skiing, enjoying the Baycrest Trails.
