on AK soil

Yep, here they are, arriving safely, at our little hamlet by the sea. After a harrowing adventure in Juneau, and dodging volcanic ash, (ok, well, it was one of our many mountains to blow, but my goodness, is hundreds of miles from here), they arrivied safely, smiling, exhausted, but ready for some Alaskan hospitality.
No, they haven't been fishing yet, (watch for Ty's blog, I'm sure he'll report in on that one, after tomorrow), but today, are out kayaking near Yukon Island. Even though it is a damp day, I'm sure they are thoroughly enjoying themselves, from the quiet stride of a kayak, amongst the sea creatures and rocky coastline. It's magical to be on the bay, half submerged in the water in a kayak, with the quiet and beauty around you. Stay tuned for more stories of adventure.....

Reets and her Alaskan photographer bud, catching up on things....

Ah, the girls in the kitchen. Treasured times...

"K" enjoys an afternoon snack......thinking of home, and his anticipated trip soon.

And here he is, preparing his fish to share, for our last salmon barbeque together for the summer. We're sad that you're leaving us, "K", but know it's time to rejoin the family again at home. We will miss you!!

AK trivia:
There are more than 80 active volcanoes in Alaska, about half of which have erupted at least once in the past 250 years!
