oh no...

Call it termination dust if you must
by Jackie Purcell, KTUU News, Anchorage, Wednesday, July 23, 2008
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Wet weather in Anchorage has resulted in a light dusting of snow on local mountain peaks.
Freezing levels touched the highest mountains and left a calling card of snow.
It was only visible when the clouds cleared long enough to catch a glimpse of the white stuff.
Call it termination dust if you must, but summer is not over, and the snow will melt off again.

maybe throw in your "extra-tuffs" light gloves (no, i'm not kidding) and a rain jacket, Terry! It's going to be a bit shocking to you "lower 48'ers", when you hit Alaskan soil.
but......it's lush, and green, and beautiful.
